The drive & arrival tips
The drive into Tangier takes 15–25 minutes to the Grand Socco, the kasbah or the seafront hotels; Chefchaouen is a scenic 2–2.5 hours inland, Tetouan about an hour, and Asilah under an hour down the coast. All of them start from the same arrivals-hall pick-up.
Your driver meets you inside the Ibn Battouta arrivals hall. Tangier’s petit and grand taxis will run you into the city for roughly 150–200 MAD, but some drivers resist using the meter and quotes rise for the kasbah or after dark — a familiar routine after a late flight.
For a short city hop the price gap is small, so the transfer is really about certainty: a fixed fare, an English-speaking driver and no negotiation. For Chefchaouen, Tetouan or Asilah it is a clearer win — one direct, comfortable ride instead of a taxi to town followed by an onward bus or shared taxi.
