The Beach Strip (Bord de Mer)
Best for: first-timers, sun-seekers, package holidays
Relaxed, international, purpose-built for sun holidays. Agadir Beach was entirely rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake, so the strip has wide boulevards, low-rise hotels, and that clean, slightly soulless feel of a planned resort. The trade-off is straightforward: you never need to negotiate traffic or geography — the sea is right there.
Pros
- Walk straight onto 10 km of clean Atlantic sand
- All-inclusive and half-board hotels at every budget level
- Well-lit, pedestrianised promenade — easy with prams and wheelchairs
- Supermarkets, pharmacies, and restaurants clustered within a few blocks
Cons
- Can feel resort-generic — could be Spain or Turkey
- Taxi rides add up for every souk or medina visit
- Street noise from the corniche peaks on weekend evenings
