The drive & arrival tips
The drive heads north through rolling farmland and into the Rif foothills, climbing to Chefchaouen’s perch at around 600 m, about 3–3.5 hours. The final approach into the mountains is scenic, and a private car lets you stop for the classic photo of the town against the peaks.
