Is April a Good Time to Visit Morocco?

Inland cities like Marrakech and Fes enjoy warm, comfortable days (often high teens to mid-20s °C) — ideal for exploring medinas without summer’s heat — with mild evenings. The Sahara is warm by day and pleasant (not yet scorching or freezing) at night, making April prime desert-tour time.

The Atlantic coast (Essaouira, Agadir) is mild and breezy, and the High Atlas is green and lovely for trekking (higher peaks may still hold snow early in the month). Rain is occasional but generally light.

April offers comfortable temperatures for a varied itinerary — cities, desert overnights, coast and mountains — with green, flowering spring landscapes and beautiful light. You avoid both peak summer heat and winter’s cold desert nights.

It is a popular month (and may include Easter holidays), so book riads and tours ahead. If your trip overlaps Ramadan (whose dates shift yearly), expect quieter days and lively evenings — check the year’s dates.

Light, breathable clothing for warm days plus a layer for cooler evenings and desert nights. Add sun protection (the spring sun is strong), comfortable walking shoes for the medinas, a light waterproof for the odd shower, and warmer kit if you will trek the High Atlas at altitude.

A scarf is handy for sun and desert sand. Early April nights (and the desert) can still be chilly, so do not skimp on layers.
