The drive & arrival tips
The drive heads south through Asni and up the Mizane valley, the tarmac tightening as walnut terraces give way to bare peaks. It is about 1h30–1h45 to Imlil, a genuine mountain road best left to a driver who knows its narrow final stretch.
Your driver meets you in the Menara arrivals hall. The budget alternative is a grand taxi to Asni and then a shared taxi up to Imlil — cheap but a two-stage haggle with luggage, and unreliable late in the day. A private car does it in one go.
For trekkers a fixed-price transfer is the practical pick: a set fare, space for packs, and a drop right at the village where your gite or mule handler is waiting. There is no night surcharge, which matters if a delayed flight has you starting the mountain leg after dark.

Can the car reach my gite in Imlil?
It reaches the village parking area; some gites are a short uphill walk beyond the road, where mules usually carry bags. Tell us your gite and we drop you as close as vehicles are allowed, and your handler can meet you there.
How long is the drive from Marrakech airport to Imlil?
About 1h30 to 1h45 for the 65 km, climbing through Asni into the High Atlas. A private transfer does it directly rather than via a taxi change in Asni.
