Bou Inania Madrasa → Nejjarine Square → Chouara Tanneries
Start at Bou Inania Madrasa (entry ~10 MAD), the finest Marinid architecture in the medina. Your guide earns their fee here — the geometric tilework and cedar latticework have layers of meaning that a solo visit simply misses. From there it is a ten-minute walk through the brass-workers' district to Nejjarine Fountain and the ornate fondouk turned woodwork museum. End the morning at the Chouara tanneries: the leather-goods shops that ring the vats hand you a sprig of mint to counter the smell, and the rooftop view of honeycomb dyeing pits is one of Morocco's defining images. Arrive before 11:00 to catch the workers at full pace.
