About Chefchaouen
Nestled in the Rif Mountains at 600 meters elevation, Chefchaouen is Morocco's most photogenic town. The tradition of painting buildings blue dates back to the 1930s, when Jewish refugees arrived and brought the practice as a symbol of heaven and spirituality.
Today, the entire medina shimmers in every shade from powder blue to deep indigo, creating an otherworldly atmosphere that has made it one of Africa's most Instagrammed destinations.
