City Centre & Hassan II Mosque
Best for first-timersThe area around Boulevard Mohammed V and the adjacent waterfront is Casablanca at its most cinematic. You can walk to the Hassan II Mosque in about 15 minutes, peer down the art-deco street facades that made Casablanca famous among architecture hunters, and reach the main train station for onward travel in under 10 minutes by taxi. Most mid-range and business hotels cluster here — think comfortable chains and independent four-stars with rooftop pools. It is the obvious anchor for anyone spending one or two nights before heading south.
Pros
- Walking distance to the mosque
- Central for day trips
- Good hotel density at every price point
- Close to Casa Voyageurs train station
Watch out for
- Busy traffic corridors
- Limited evening dining on foot
