About Saidiia
Saidia, nicknamed "the Blue Pearl," sits at the far northeastern corner of Morocco, just 3 km from the Algerian border. Its main attraction is undeniable: a 14-kilometer unbroken stretch of golden sand beach, the longest in Morocco, lapped by the warm, calm waters of the Mediterranean. The Mediterrania Saidia resort complex, opened in 2009, added an 18-hole golf course, a large marina, luxury hotels, and aquapark facilities.
Despite the modern resort infrastructure, Saidia retains a distinctly local character. The old town center buzzes with cafes and small restaurants, and the weekly souk draws farmers from across the Oriental region. The Moulouya River estuary, just west of town, is a protected wetland and birdwatching paradise where flamingos, herons, and migratory species gather.
Saidia's remoteness from Morocco's main tourist circuits means it is primarily popular with Moroccan and Algerian vacationers, giving it an authentic summer holiday atmosphere.
