Marrakech
Morocco's most intense city — dense, loud, endlessly photogenic.
The medina alone can absorb two full days: the Djemaa el-Fna at night, the souks by morning, Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and at least one unhurried afternoon getting lost in the tannery quarter. Add a day for Majorelle Garden and the Palmeraie, and one more for a day trip to the Agafay Desert or Ourika Valley. Five days feels generous; three is tight but doable if you arrive knowing where you're going.
Practical tips
- Book Majorelle Garden in advance — queues without a reservation are brutal
- The souks get packed after 10 am; go early or go late
- Allow a half-day buffer if you are flying home from Marrakech
