Days 1–2
Marrakech
Ease in — medina walks, souks and the Majorelle Garden
Arrive and let the kids adjust before diving into the busiest parts of the city. The Majorelle Garden is an hour well spent: small enough to walk with a toddler, vivid enough to hold a teenager's attention, and the Berber Museum inside takes only 30 minutes. Save Jemaa el-Fna for the evening when the food stalls are lit up and the energy is carnival-level — kids almost universally love it. Stick to the edge of the square rather than the thick of it.
- Book a riad with a courtyard pool — children use them all afternoon
- Horse-drawn calèches are an easy, slow way to introduce the city
- Street food on the square: msemen pancakes and fresh-squeezed orange juice are universally liked
