Before Fajr (pre-dawn)
Suhoor — the pre-dawn meal
Most Moroccans rise before first light to eat suhoor, the meal that sustains them through the fasting day. Medinas are briefly alive with activity — vendors selling m'semmen flatbread, the smell of mint tea drifting from doorways — before silence returns at the adhan (call to prayer) marking dawn. As a visitor, you can be out walking and will see a side of the city almost no non-Ramadan tourist ever witnesses.
