Café de France Terrace (Djemaa el-Fna)
The upper terrace of Café de France sits right on the main square and looks straight down onto the chaos of Djemaa el-Fna — snake charmers, storytellers, smoke from the food stalls. It is not the tallest perch in the medina, but the intimacy with the square is unmatched.
Logistics
Enter from the square side. Order a mint tea (30–40 MAD, indicative) to claim a table. No separate admission. Open roughly 07:00–23:00.
Best time
Dusk, when the square shifts from market to open-air restaurant
Pro tip
Arrive 30 minutes before sunset for a seat on the top row. The terrace fills fast from 18:00 onward.
