Marrakech on New Year's Eve is genuinely festive. The city has a surprisingly active licensed bar and club scene — concentrated almost entirely in the Gueliz and Hivernage neighbourhoods — and the juxtaposition of Jemaa el-Fnaa filling with local families and fireworks while Hivernage clubs run until 5 am is a peculiarly Marrakchi way to see the year out.
The practical reality: Morocco is a Muslim-majority country, but Marrakech has more licensed premises than any other Moroccan city, and on NYE they go all out — set menus, ticketed gala events, DJ headliners and organised countdowns. What you will not find is cheap pints or an outdoor street-party bar crawl in the medina. The action is west of the old city.
This guide covers the main venues by type, realistic 2026/27 pricing, what the evening looks like hour by hour, and the one thing most travellers miss: booking at least four weeks ahead.
