Days 1–3 · Marrakech
Gentle intro: medina, gardens, hammam
Arrive and rest on day one — jet lag and heat both deserve respect. Days two and three explore the medina at a measured pace: the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs (steps but manageable), and the Majorelle Garden, which has paved paths and shade. A riad in the quieter northern medina means far less scooter traffic than the Jemaa el-Fna end. One afternoon hammam session at a tourist-grade spa (where instructions are in English and staff are used to first-timers) is worth pencilling in early.
- Stay north of Jemaa el-Fna for calmer lanes
- Visit Majorelle in the first hour after opening
- Book a riad with a lift or confirm ground-floor rooms
