About This Dish
A gorgeous mix of dried dates, figs, apricots, almonds, walnuts, and sometimes dried roses that is the traditional accompaniment to mint tea and an essential Ramadan staple. Displayed in towering pyramids at spice shops and markets across Morocco, dried fruits and nuts are both a daily snack and a gift given during holidays and celebrations. The Draa Valley produces the country's best dates, the Souss region supplies the figs, and the Atlas mountains provide walnuts and almonds. A small plate of mixed dried fruits appears on every Moroccan coffee table for guests.
